Cloud Usage to Cron
It would be nice if Onapp would handle the Cloud Usage data not directly it's to slow, it's pagination takes minutes, and it takes 5 minutes just to load page for data between X and Y dates, this is better set as part of a Cron system, you can add a configuration in the settings on how many times this should run on the day and then have the visuals in Cloud Usage from a direct mariaDB table instead, this speeds up and makes it much better to work with, we recently just did this for our WHMCS Bandwidth data addon, it's apples and oranges to work with, please..
Convert Centos 7 VM to Centos 8
Considering EoL of centos 7 whjch is going to be happen in June 2024 ,we have question for you. Can OnAPP provide tool or technique to use so that we can convert centos 7 VMs to Centos 8. It is very difficult to setup new vm with the centos 8and migrate them one by one. It is very necessary for us to have some tool or technique so that centos 7 can be converted to centos 8 or almalinux 8 Almalinux has already delivered elevation technique so dedicated server using centos 7 can be converted to centos 8. If you go through https://almalinux.org/elevate/ you will see the steps. We request needful help on this.
When creating a virtual machine, a default template is selected (ex:CENT OS) If you click on another template (ex: Microsoft 2016) and do not select a version, the default template (CENT OS) version shows as unselected, and allows you to continue to create a virtual machine, as the next button is enabled. There is currently no option to not have a default template and disable the next button to allow the user to not proceed, and select a OS version that they actually want, without having to go back wondering what happened. This causes confusion and a bad user experience.
Deliver Templates that can be updated
You should publish templates that can be updated. See ticket #398714. If you push a linux template that can never be updated using the standard Yum process, you are setting your customers up to have mission critical VMs fail on reboot. If there are changes that must be done to avoid kernel, Grub, Grub2, etc., updates or changes, make those part of your templates. Don't push a time bomb to your customers.
